Time Travelers Wanted! One hundred years ago we were just taking our first steps into the future of the modern world. As more and more people had their own cars, planes were being designed to carry passengers, and the majority of Americans would have electricity in their homes by the end of the 1920s. And while some people fought to hold on to the past, many more held on to the idea of a better and brighter future. In 1922 alone, the White House installed its first radio, congress welcomed its first female senator, and the Harlem Renaissance began to cast a spotlight on talented artists like Langston Hughes and Louis Armstrong.
Welcome to Blue Whiskey Independent Film Festival’s Cinema Centennial! Let us take you back in time, not just to the roaring twenties, but to seeing the world through the eyes of a child again. As this year our program contains stories centered on kids. Those movies that contain a special kind of magic. The one that sees the world as a place of wonder, adventure, and potential for the future.
