Internship Opportunities
Join the programming team to learn the process of programming for an international independent film festival and monthly streaming series. The programming intern will provide administrative assistance to lead programmers and participate in film evaluation.
Qualifications & Skills
- Strong film knowledge
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and with a group
- Proficient understanding of basic Google applications
Schedule & Availability
- January – March 2024
- Flexible hours; estimated 15-20 hours per week
Under the guidance and supervision of the Video Content Producer, camera operator interns capture footage of filmmaker Q&As following each screening using the advanced camera systems.
Qualifications & Skills
- Basic understanding of composition
- Strong sense of timing and visual awareness
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment
Schedule & Availability
- Evenings after 6pm during scheduled events (film festival)
Volunteer Positions
The Development Director is responsible for the strategic direction, management, and coordination of the organization’s fundraising efforts through grants, individual contributions, and events.
Responsibilities
- Assemble and implement a comprehensive development fundraising plan to maintain the fiscal health of the organization and provide future financial resources for growth.
- Plan fundraising events that effectively communicate the purposes and goals of the organization, and serve as the primary point of contact for funding, donations, and fundraising event inquiries.
- Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with donors.
- Collect, organize and maintain a complete and accurate database record of donors and funding received, including corporations, foundations, and individuals.
- Produce relevant and informative fundraising content for distribution to previous donors and the general public.
- Serve as Head of Events on the Imbibe Cinema Committee.

The Marketing Director is responsible for developing marketing strategies, administering campaigns, and analyzing their results to effectively create awareness of the organization and its mission.
Responsibilities
- Ensure that tone, visual style and messaging are consistent.
- Serve as author of the organization’s website, social media, and email marketing content.
- Implement, monitor, and optimize social media and search engine advertising campaigns.
- Create and distribute monthly newsletters and daily festival schedule newsletters.
- Maintain email subscriber lists and develop strategies to increase subscriber engagement.
- Design and/or approve print marketing collateral and oversee distribution of materials.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with media publications, educational institutions, and other film and arts organizations.
- Develop audience and filmmaker surveys in collaboration with other departments.
- Distribute special offers and discounts when appropriate and monitor usage.
- Serves as Head of Editorial for Imbibe Cinema.

Blue Whiskey Independent Film Festival is seeking a dynamic and diverse group of volunteer associate programmers who love independent films, captivating stories, and have a fundamental understanding of the filmmaking process. Associate Programmers will watch films submitted for exhibition and competition consideration, and play an important role in the official selection decision process.
