Back to dreary cold winter nights. But we’ve got just thing to spice up your week! A Chai Honey Old Fashion from the folks over at The Artful Desperado.

What you’ll need:

  • Bourbon (dealers choice)
  • Lose leaf chai tea or teabag (no powder nonsense!)
  • 1 orange
  • 2 teaspoons honey
  • Orange bitters or regular Angostura bitters
  • Club soda (optional)

The first thing you want to do is get your bourbon nice and infused. You only need one tea bag for about a cup of bourbon. I used three. It was a grave mistake. Learn from my mistake, use one. And then let your bourbon and chai chill out for a couple of hours until you are happy with the level of chai-ness. I’d start at 2 hours and check it out from there.

Then in a shaker put ice, 2 oz. chai infused bourbon, 2 teaspoons honey, 3 dashes of bitters and a nice size piece or orange rind. Shake it up until the honey is dissolved and the orange releases it’s sent.  And voilà!

Cheers friends!
