Halfway through the week is more than enough of a reason to celebrate Whiskey Wednesday! Today’s Maple Whiskey Sour is brought to your taste buds courtesy of Gimme Some Oven.
The maple in this guy is sweet and simple and is just enough of a hit of flavor that doesn’t detract from the lemony pucker you expect from a whiskey sour. Put them together (add the egg white if you dare) and you’ve got one smooth drink that is perfect year round.
Let’s get to drinking!
You’ll need:
- 2 oz whiskey
- 1 egg white (optional but highly recommended)
- 1 oz fresh lemon juice
- 3/4 oz maple syrup (get the good stuff, don’t skimp out)
- 2-3 dashes of Angostura bitters
- Ice
If your going the egg white option put the whiskey and egg white into a shaker are shake that bad boy up until it’s nice and frothy (about 20 seconds) then add your lemon juice, maple syrup, bitters, and ice and give it another shake to combine and chill. Strain and serve.
If you’re not feeling the egg white, throw it all in a shaker and go to town or just stir it up!
Cheers friends!
